Walking :
Ranging from gentle dog walks, hiking, hillwalking and Munro bagging so something for every level. Join the ‘Cateran Trail’ beside the Bridge of Cally hotel 5 mins walk from Fernbank.
Cycling :
From exploring the local area at your leisure to mountain biking in the summer season at Glenshee ski slopes.
Skiing :
20 mins drive from the cottage across the spectacular Cairnwell Pass to Glenshee. 22 lifts 36 runs offers diverse terrain for skiers or snowboarders. Three mountain cafes, further equipment hire and ample car parking.
The cottage has a boot room through a side door access for your return.
Golf:
The Blairgowrie Golf club offer visitors bookings and has a well earned high reputation in beautiful surroundings.
Experiences :
Land Rover Experience Scotland offers off rode 4x4 driving experiences to be found on the road to Dunkeld outside Blairgowrie.
Highland fling Bunjie jumping at Killiecrankie is less than an hours drive.
Nae Limits 40 mins from the cottage including Gorge walking, white water rafting, river tubing and canyoning for the adventurous!
Distillery:
Persie gin only 10 mins drive - offers tastings.
Edradour whiskey on the road to Pitlochry 40 mins.
Gin Bothy experience 40 mins away near Glamis Castle.
Dewars whiskey an hour away just outside Aberfeldy.
Siteseeing:
Drive the Cairweil Pass to Braemar (named 2023 one of the poshest villages in UK) and visit Fife Arms Hotel for lunch or dinner and sit amongst a wonderful art collection throughout the hotel including a Picasso.
15 mins further to Balmoral castle, the Scottish hone of the Royal family then Ballater village for shops eateries and galleries.

Blairgowrie - 10 mins drive. A market town, shops and cafes, excellent bookshop and established fishing tackle and clothing shop.

Dundee - shopping area, riverside walk and V & A museum.
St Andrews - seaside university town, lovely local shops and the home of golf with seven golf courses including the Old Course.
